Every child is an individual. We do not adhere to any one particular program or therapy approach. Through our many years of experience, we have learned that what works well for one child may or may not be the best option for another child. Although we strive to stay current with the latest state-of-the-art treatment approaches, we refrain from jumping on the current "bandwagon" approach and abandoning other proven methods that are tried and true. We believe that children should enjoy therapy. We love watching our children learn and grow while they are having fun.
In addition, we believe that early intervention is critical for children with communicative issues or motor planning difficulties. Infants, toddlers and preschool age children are neurologically "ripe" to learn both linguistic and motor skills. Recent studies in brain research reveal that missing these "neurological windows of opportunity" can make later learning more difficult.
"Laurie and Maria are wonderful therapists. I can’t say enough about their ability to make speech classes fun. Through these classes my son’s speech has improved so much that friends, family and myself included can’t believe he is the same child. I no longer have to worry that he won’t be understood. Laurie and Maria are the best! We can’t thank them enough for helping our son with his speech." T. Raffier
